Targa Super is a selective, systemic, post-emergence herbicide of the Aryloxyphenoxy-propionates group, used to control narrow leaf weeds in broad leaf crops such as Soybean, Cotton, Groundnut, Blackgram and Onion. It is rainfast within an hour of application and delivers visible weed control within 5–15 days.
Features & Benefits
Targa Super is a selective, systemic, post-emergence herbicide of the Aryloxyphenoxy-propionates group
Targa Super is used to control narrow leaf weeds in broad leaf crops
Targa Super effectively controls narrow leaf weeds like Echinochloa spp. (Sawan), Eleusine (Goose grass), Digitaria spp. (Large crab grass), Volunteer paddy etc.
Targa Super is a systemic herbicide, absorbed from the leaf surface, with translocation throughout the plant, moving in both directions through xylem and phloem, and accumulating in the meristematic tissue
Targa Super inhibits fatty acid synthesis by acting on acetyl CoA carboxylase (ACCase)
Targa Super is quickly absorbed by the weeds, hence rain even one hour after spray does not affect its effectiveness
Weed leaves turn purplish/red within 5–8 days after Targa Super application and are completely killed within 10–15 days
Mode of Action
Targa Super acts through inhibition of the enzyme Acetyl CoA Carboxylase (ACCase), which is essential for fatty acid synthesis in grassy weeds. Being absorbed through the leaf surface, it translocates via both xylem and phloem to the meristematic tissue, halting growth and causing progressive purpling/reddening of leaves, ultimately leading to complete death of the weed within 10–15 days.
