Sempra is a post-emergent, highly selective and systemic herbicide, specially designed for effective control of Cyperus rotundus (nutsedge) in Sugarcane, Maize and Bottle Gourd. It is absorbed through the root system and leaf surface, translocates to meristem tissues, and blocks nutrient uptake in weeds within 24 hours—killing nuts/nutlets and preventing re-germination, while remaining safe on the crop when used at the recommended dose.

Mode of Action
SEMPRA, being a sulfonylurea group herbicide, inhibits acetolactate synthase (ALS), which is the first enzyme in the biosynthetic pathway of the essential branched chain Amino acids (Valine, Leucine & Isoleucine). Inhibition of ALS leads to the starvation of the plant (Cyperus rotundus) for these amino acids, resulting in death (killing) of weeds.
